Our Mission
It is the mission of the Oak Hill Fire &
Rescue Association to provide to the citizens of the Oak Hill fire tax
District of Burke County, North Carolina, the highest and most
professional emergency response possible. The emergency response shall
include fire, medical, and rescue operations. Response will be made to a
wide variety of emergency situations including, but not limited to;
fires of all types, medical emergency response, light and medium
extrication emergencies, hazardous materials (Hazmat) incidents, as well
as other natural and man made emergencies and disasters.
These services are to be provided to the
citizens of the fire tax district in as efficient and cost effective
manner as possible.
In order to meet these objectives, all
personnel will be trained in fire response including structural,
vehicle, and wildland fires, as well as cardio-pulmonary resuscitation
(CPR). Additionally all personnel will be trained to respond to light
and medium extrication emergencies. All personnel will be certified to
OSHA standards to respond to Hazardous Materials incidents at Operations
level standards.
All medical first
responders will be trained to emergency medical technician (EMT)
standards as set by the state of North Carolina.
